Come join your fellow ocean lovers on Saturday June 2nd at the Tybee Island Pier & Pavilion for a March for the Ocean. We will make our voices heard to fight offshore Oil drilling, reduce plastic pollution and protect our coastlines. Wear something blue to show solidarity with the Ocean!
10AM – 11AM: LEARN
Visit the education stations to learn about critical issues confronting our waterways and what you can do to fight back and visit the ‘make a sign’/take a sign’ stations, or bring your own pro-Ocean sign!
11:00 AM – NOON: MARCH
Group photos under the Pier, then march the beach north and south of the Pier (Participants can choose to walk with buckets & grabbers to remove litter along the way, if they prefer)
NOON -1 PM: MINGLE
Mingle with others and enjoy the spectacular views from the Pavilion. We’ll supply water refill stations, bananas and oranges; feel free to bring a (low-waste) picnic lunch. Please bring as little plastic to the event as possible! Continue the festivities by cleaning the beach around the Pier. Get your ‘Love the GA Coast’ reusable shopping bag and ‘I’ll skip the straw’ sticker as our thank-you gift
