Back to the Chattahoochee River Race and Festival 2014

Back to the Chatt 2013

Come out to 2014 Back to the Chattahoochee River Race and Festival on June 14, 2014. The race and festival celebrates the Chattahoochee River, while fostering a sense of community around the river. Proceeds go to support CRK’s mission to protect and preserve the river system for the people and wildlife that depend upon it. The event is organized and presented by Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK) in partnership with the National Park Service, Fulton County, and the City of Roswell.

Chapter activists will be tabling the festival at the end of the race held at Riverside Park in Roswell, from 10 am to 3 pm.

In addition, there is a river race for interested paddlers. Visit the registration page for more info: http://www.chattahoochee.org/river-race-festival.php. Registration is now open, and it closes June 6. There is a SUP division.

IMPORTANT: The river race is NOT an official Surfrider Foundation Georgia Chapter activity.

REGISTRATION: The entry fee for solo boats is $40 and $60 for tandem boats (two people). Race entries are limited to 420 People. We strongly suggest registering as soon as possible to ensure admission. On site registration will only be available if capacity is not reached in advance. All "registered paddlers" will receive a gift bag, a race T-shirt, and a boxed lunch. Your registration includes a complimentary one-year membership with Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. Also, as a special treat for racers only, paddlers will be greeted at the end of the course by the SweetWater Beer Barge. Paddlers may enjoy sodas, water, or a SweetWater brew (for patrons 21 and over) before going ashore.

PLEASE NOTE: THE RIVER HAS SHOAL AREAS SO A FLEXIBLE FIN IS RECOMMENDED. YOU CAN ALSO REMOVE YOUR FIN. High Country Outfitters in Buckhead has a couple fins in stock. You can also order online HERE.
