Nomination of 2013 -2015 Officers
Surfrider Foundation Atlanta Chapter is accepting nominations for its Executive Committee for 2013-2015. The two-year term will start effective as of the date of elections which will occur at the April 16, 2013 Chapter Meeting. SHEP Campaign Update
We are still monitoring the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP). Is Tybee Beach safe from the SHEP dredge materials? Please review our latest Statement on the Revised Environmental Impact Statement. Our STOP SHEP Campaign Page has other updates.
Wavemaker Award
Atlanta Chapter Chairperson Steve Combs was designated a 2012 Wavemaker by the Board of Directors of Surfrider Foundation. This annual awards ceremony honors individuals and companies for their outstanding volunteer efforts and support during the previous year to help the Foundation fulfill its mission of protecting oceans, waves and beaches. This year's ceremony will be in Dana Point on February 23, 2013. We are stoked to get this kind of national recognition.
2013 Calendar
The 2013 Calendar has our latest events. Our February Chapter Meeting will be February 12, 2013. The Atlanta Chapter is supporting Chattahoochee Riverkeeper's Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival on March 3, 2013. We have two tickets to give away. The first two Surfrider Foundation members who leave a comment on the Event Page will receive the tickets. One ticket per household, one ticket per comment. RSVP on the event page to let others know you will attend.
New Subscribers to the Email List
Welcome new subscribers to our email list. We added some people at the Donovan Concert and at the Chasing Maverick special screening. We also post updates on our Twitter, Facebook, Website and Forum services. You can choose how you want to connect with us and opt-out at any time.
Website Account and Forum
Register for an account if you want to connect with others members, friends, and supporters of the Chapter. Update your profile page and join a group. We want to connect with you. In recognition of Steve Combs' one year anniversary of not having a car, we would like to remind you to please post rideshare offers and requests on the Chapter Forum for surf/SUP trips. We currently have a stand up paddle SUPer Bowl Paddle on the Hooch on Sunday 2/3 noon if interested.
