August Chapter Meeting (August 7, 2012, 7PM)
Our regular monthly chapter meeting (second Tuesday of every month) will be at a new location. We are moving the event to Steamhouse Lounge, 1051 West Peachtree St, Atlanta, GA. The meeting starts at 7pm. We will be discussing the International Surfing Day recap, the Barefoot Wine cleanup event on 8/25, the Savannah Harbor Expansion campaign update, Pam Longobardi's trip to remove plastic from a sea cave in Greece, the new Chapter Surf Report, and other new projects. Barefoot Wine / Surfrider River Cleanup (August 25, 2012, 9AM)
The Atlanta Chapter will be cleaning up the Powers Island to Paces Mill unit of the Chattahoochee River for a “Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue” event on August 25 , 2012. The National Park Services is providing 8 canoes on a first come-first serve basis to chapter members. You can also walk or wade at the Paces Mill location. You can also bring your own canoe, kayak, or SUP. There will be a post-event celebration with free wine and food. YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE. (More Info)
Patagonia Movie: Come Hell or High Water (August 30, 2012, 715PM)
Come out to the Patagonia Atlanta store for surfer Keith Malloy’s movie about his passion for bodysurfing: “It’s about taking a breath, and kicking your feet, in the big blue sea — come hell or high water.” The store location is 34 E Andrews Drive Northwest Atlanta, GA 30305.
